Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates

Poetsandpirates

11th Studio album by Kenny Chesney

What does the Sandbar Say…..

Connie…”Better As A Memory” “One of my all time favorite songs Kenny has ever recorded! This song is so true to life. It’s about the relationships that some people get trapped in. I am a sucker for a Kenny ballad. Hearing him sing this live is so awesome. I bet it was amazing when everyone had to help him sing it back in Indianapolis when he couldn’t find the words to finish.”

“I move on like a sinners prayer
Letting go like a levee breaks
Walk away as if I don’t care
Learn to shoulder my mistakes
I’m built to fade like your favorite song
Gettin reckless when there’s no need
Laugh as your stories ramble on
Break my heart, but it won’t bleed
My only friends are pirates
That’s just who I am
I’m better as a memory than as your man”

Michelle… “Never Wanted Nothing More” “I love this song because it reminds me when my life was simple and my only care was hanging out with my friends and driving around my little town when I turned 16. Teenage fun! It is such a fun song to sing to and just puts a smile on my face! It takes me back to when I was young. LOL.”

“Couldn’t wait to turn 16 and drive all the boy’s around

Foot on the gas and hands on the wheel was all I could think about

A little rust in the bed of that truck and a four speed on the floor

Five-hundred dollars it was mine, all mine and I never wanted nothin’ more”
