St. John Sandbar Escape

October 23rd – 28th 2019

Tentative Agenda

Special Note: In respect to Kenny Chesney and his friends on the island we want to make it EXTREMELY clear that we will NOT allow any “Kenny Chasing/Stalking” on this trip. We frequent the island of St. John several times a year and there is an unspoken policy by the locals that no one gives out any information on Kenny Chesney. He is highly guarded by the residents on the island for his privacy. We would never ask anyone personal information about him at any time. This trip is to have fun and fellowship with other No Shoes Nation members who live life to the fullest and love Kenny’s music. To enjoy the place Kenny sings  about in his songs and to expierence the magic that is St. John. If you are looking for Kenny or any info on him then this trip is not for you. Thank you for respecting our wishes in advance.

Wednesday October 23rd

  • Arrival at St. Thomas airport via your own selected and booked airline. Jet Blue, American and Delta all fly into St. Thomas to help with your flight purchase. Catch a taxi right out side the baggage claim to Red Hook ferry station. Approximate cost one way for the 45 min. taxi ride is $30 a person. The ferry will take you to St. John, ferry leaves every hour on the hour and is approximately $10 one way with bags. No need for a reservation.
  • There is an newer ferry service called InterIsland BoatServ that only runs once a day at 3:30 pm from Crown Bay which is a shorter cab ride from the airport but longer and more expensive boat trip that you may want to check into as an option. They have limited their runs due to slow season.  Check ahead
  • Arrive St. John at Ferry Dock to Gallows Point and St. John Inn. Gallows Point has a shuttle bus and is a 5 minute ride from ferry dock (Call Gallows ahead of time to schedule). Or you can get some exercise and walk to either Gallows or St. John Inn.
  • Check into rooms, freshen up, unpack.
  • Dinner at your leisure in Cruz Bay.
  • 7:00 pm High Tide Beach Side Bar and Grill for Meet and Greet raffles, prizes, gifts and drink specials. (10 minute walk from Gallows Point and St. John Inn)

  • The boat/ferry we have will get as close to shore as possible, But we still suggest getting a water tight bag so you can bring items ashore. There is also a smaller boat that will ferry people to shore if needed. MUST BE BACK ON THE BOAT by 4:00 pm. Watch your timing. “TIME FLIES WHEN YOU ARE HAVING RUM!”
  • Lunch is at your leisure while on Jost. The bars all know we are coming. Remember they are on “island time” so food may take longer than normal for such a large group.
