“Fighting Those Negative Feelings With A Kenny Chesney Song”
Kenny Chesney’s Music Can Be Therapy Session For Positivity!
Can’t get a that very rare meet and greet with Kenny Chesney? Or, you seem to have too many bills to pay for that sandbar ticket? Maybe it’s the setlist… wishing Kenny would play “your” favorite song instead of “Big Star”. Why does Kenny put all the concert dates on sale at the worst time? Ever wonder and complain that he doesn’t play in your city? I wish I didn’t have this medical condition that prevents me from going to see Kenny in concert? Or maybe you feel Kenny hasn’t recognized and shown you gratitude personally, for your commitment to his music and career with an autograph or handshake. Michelle, Connie and Noelle have heard it all. And we certainly will admit we think of some of these negative vibes too, once in a while. So we encourage you all to keep entering those radio contests for that meet and greet or tickets to a show. Why not start a small Kenny fund doing some extra work to put money away for that Sandbar ticket? Enjoy the new songs that he does add to the set list. Learn to be prepared for the next tour. For a big tour, tickets usually always go on sale in October/early November. Think of a road trip as part of the adventure when you have to travel to a new city to catch a show. And for the shows you can’t attend, appreciate those amazing No Shoes Nation members that share their experience with us! Here at Welcome to the Sandbar, we love living through the experiences of other NSN members and we love hearing all about it on our page. Especially when we can’t make a show.
The best way we know to overcome the negative thoughts and disappointment is in… Kenny’s music! Really listen to the uplifting messages found in so many of his songs. Here are a few examples that help us get rid of those bad vibes and negative thoughts:
“Am Alive”
So damn easy to say that life’s so hard
Everybody’s got their share of battle scars
As for me, I’d like to thank my lucky stars that I’m alive and well…
It’d be easy to add up all the pain
And all the dreams you sat and watched go up in flames
Dwell on the wreckage as it smolders in the rain
But not me…I’m alive
And today you know that’s good enough for me
Breathin’ in and out’s a blessing can’t you see
Today’s the first day of the rest of my life and I’m alive
And well…I’m alive and well
“Reality”
Yeah, some days it’s a bitch, it’s a bummer
We need a rock and roll show in the summer
To let the music take us away
Take our minds to a better place
“Marley”
God knows I love my life and I thank Him every night
But sometimes I feel the knife of responsibility.
And the struggle and the strife, what’s wrong and what’s right
Has got me searching for the light and my place of peace.
We all live in chaos, noise and negativity
But I still believe in one love bigger than you and me,
You and me,
You and me and Marley,
You and me and Marley
“Guitars Tiki Bars”
Tired of my beeper, tired of my phone
Tired of this tired ol’ tie I got on
Sick of this traffic jam that I’m in
We all get sick of it all now and then
When I’ve had it up to here
I go down there
I feel like a fish jerked out of the sea
Or a bird in a cage that’s never seen a key
Sick of this grind and I think that I ought
To bring this grind to a grinding halt
Now I’ve had it up to here
Let’s go down there
“Flip Flop Summer”
Let’s tell that old grind where to stick it
Put the rest of the stress in there with it
Don’t you think we’ve had enough?
It’s time to get away
“Rise Above It”
Hey there, you there,
Standing in the back there,
Talking to me and you.
You gotta take a chance to dance the dance,
Cause some dreams still come true.
You gotta rise above it.
Sometimes you hate it,
Sometimes you love it.
Gotta rise up above it all.
“Don’t Blink”
I was glued to my TV and it looked like he looked at me and said
“Best start putting first things first.”
Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can’t flip over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it’s worth
“Never Wanted Nothing More”
Well I’m what I am and I’m what I’m not
I’m sure happy with what I’ve got
I live to love and laugh a lot
And that’s all I need
