“Kenny and the ACM Awards”
Fact…Kenny Chesney: First Fan-Voted ACM Entertainer of the Year Chesney has received 11 ACM awards, including four as entertainer of the year. In 2008, he became the first artist to be named the ACM’s entertainer of the year when fans were allowed for the first time to cast their votes online. He also received the Triple Crown Award in 2005, which is the Academy’s recognition for artists who have previously won ACM Awards in all three of the following categories: New Artist; Male/Female Vocalist and/or Vocal Duo/VocalGroup; and Entertainer of the Year.
This year Kenny is nominated for… 4 awards for “American Kids”
Song of the Year, Single Record of the Year and Video of the Year. Plus two songwriters (Luke Laird and Rodney Clawson) are nominated for “American Kids”.
Kenny is also receiving the Milestone Award…This award will commemorate Kenny’s groundbreaking career achievements in ACM Awards history. The seven artists chosen by the ACM’s board of directors will be recognized for advancing the popularity and acceptance of country music by accomplishing milestones unique to the Academy of Country Music.
