Meet Kim Wiygul Williams

   

Here is Kim’s No Shoes Nation Story…

*Where are you from and where do you live now?

I am a proud Mississippian by birth, and I currently live just outside of Tupelo, MS (yes, the birthplace of Elvis).

*How long do you think you have been a Kenny Chesney Fan?

I became a fan in ’99, but it was at my first Kenny show (he opened for George in Nashville) in April 2000 that I became totally hooked!

*How many times have you seen Kenny in Concert? What was your favorite show?

I have seen Kenny 37 times. I can’t say just one as my favorite, but I can narrow it down to five (lol):

• May 2009 – The Frisco shows, both the “rainout” and then the free 3+ hour follow-up show. The make-up show was my first Sandbar and that night was EPIC!
• March 2010 –Tootsie’s in Nashville (with Steve Miller) after the Crossroads taping at The Ryman
• July 2010 – CMT Invitation Only taping
• July 2016 – Finally, the long-awaited Meet-n-Greet night in Pittsburgh

Yes, he is super sweet. It was AMAZING!

*What is your favorite album? Favorite song?

Be As You Are will always hold my heart. And songs….so many…I’ll say French Kissing Life

*Any funny or crazy Kenny related stories to tell?

Oh boy, are there stories???!!!!! ;)  As Kenny said to me at the taping of CMT Invitation Only, “Girl, you get around!” (I’ll let you envision the grin he gave me when he said that!)

From the first time I met him outside a casino in the fall of 2001, to ending up at the stage for the 2015 ACM Awards…the memories are too many to completely list.

*What is your favorite thing about being a member of the No Shoes Nation.

By far, my favorite thing is the many friends I have made. Sometimes people laugh at how I “chase Kenny” across the country. They simply have NO IDEA how many wonderful people his music and concerts have brought into my life. They just don’t get it. But, as we all know, once you GO, you KNOW!

*Who are some of your favorite No Shoes Nation Pals to go to concerts with?

OMgosh, that’s a difficult one. I will name a few people that I actually met, and became friends, with AT a show (or in the Sandbar line- ha)…Kelley, Bitsy, Vicki, Brooke, Tom, Katie, Jane, Kristi, Peggy, Yvette, Stacey, Chuck, Amanda, Emily, Natalie, Judi and Rose…through tornadoes (apparently they follow me to TX!), power outages, lightening storms, heat exhaustion (105 degrees at FloraBamaJama), interesting security guards, tailgating and after-parties…we’ve seen it all! Cheers my NSN friends; here’s to many more adventures! My husband and I even plan our vacation each year around a Kenny show in a city that we haven’t visited. Combining our love for travel with the Kenny addiction!
