I’m Julie and this is how I Live Those Songs in this Beautiful World!
Back Where I Come From, in Brooklyn NY, the radio stations didn’t play county music (or “country & western” as it was known then). It was Down the Road while in the Navy that Shipmates introduced me to the Good Stuff of “three chords and the truth.”
My 1st Kenny recollection was hearing Me and You and all I can say is ooh child, – You Had Me from Hello! Before I knew him as the Caribbean Cowboy, I found Love for Love City in 1997 when Shipmates and I had some R&R enjoying Life on a Rock. The connection grew when listening to “There Goes My Life” – it’s my life story (& unites me and my Dad) as I was the 1st kid to young parents, I left home for the Navy, my 1st car was a Honda, and I love me some Abercrombie clothes. But it was seeing Kenny perform I Go Back at Merriweather Post Pavilion in 2004 that I Lost it with a bond that Don’t Happen Twice.
Looking back to the 2019 Songs for the Saints tour, it is Better as a Memory. Now I know How Forever Feels, cause last year’s Summertime wasn’t the same and the Reality is that this year may not be as well. Since he Ain’t Back Yet, I wish I had a Keg in the Closet or was drinking a Beer in Mexico. What I Need to Do is go to a Kenny concert (Red Rocks & Key West shows are my bucket list) so When I Close My Eyes I can hear the crowd Noise When the Sun Goes Down and feel like I’m Alive – Never Wanted Nothing More!
Times have been tough, and we all may not Get Along, but in the Here and Now I know in my heart that Everything’s Gonna Be Alright. When things get back to “normal,” just know Whatever It Takes, I plan to be at Kenny’s next show waving my Pirate Flag! All I Need to Know is what the tour schedule will be to make my plans, cause happy is as Happy Does.
Until then – Live a Little and ask yourself Who You’d Be Today without Kenny Chesney, No Shoes Nation, No Shoes Reefs, Blue Chair Bay Rum, and our Welcome to the Sandbar group!? Don’t Blink because time goes by like you’re Living in Fast Forward visiting every Bar at the End of the World making you Feel Like a Rock Star. Who has No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems in this Beautiful World – WE DO!
To my Kenny Peeps – you make me feel Young, so am looking forward to the day I’m Somewhere With You and we’re Setting the World on Fire – cause You Save Me. Until then – may you always live as Happy Does and Be As You Are!
