“Who Looks Forward To 2021 Like We Do? We Do!”

Well… 2021 is finally here! Let’s take the time to review some of what 2020 brought and how the “Sandbar” developed and adjusted to what was a year of let downs in our Kenny music loving world!

Remembering back to a day that we will never forget. It was a normal day at work for Connie and Michelle. A phone call we didn’t expect to get rocked our Sandbar world. The voice on the other line calmly explaining that our social media pages were about to blow up. They were telling us the sad news, Kenny had made the difficult decision to postpone the Chillaxification tour. For about two hours we were trusted to keep this information private until Kenny Camp could get a hold on the situation and make the formal announcement. We had so many emotions at that moment and unfortunately Covid became a real thing… a REAL, disappointing “thing”. For what seemed like months we fielded questions, concerns and the fans emotions. We decided we had to adapt and developed ways to keep everyone in the loop and engaged. Our summer escapes were on hold so, we had to improvise and get our “Kenny” fix in different “virtual” ways. Developing zoom meetings, going live on Instagram and Facebook, to having watch parties with everyone while celebrating Kenny’s videos. Special guests at our zooms like Jon Anthony from No Shoes Radio and the Wheeland Brothers became the norm. We were honored to have Harmoni Kelley surprise 100 of us on our private zoom to celebrate the release of the new album. It was a year that we will never forget and at times we feel like we became closer as fans to The No Shoes Nation. Kenny has even opened up a little with his private world, more personal postings and even a few live performances on social media. We made it through our first year ever, without seeing Kenny live in concert. The new album certainly made that possible. Along with all of you helping us keep the music alive. Here are our thoughts as we say goodbye to 2020 and hello to 2021…

Michelle: Wow, has it been a year. We know we have so many things to be thankful for but boy did we miss you all. We look forward every year to seeing Kenny at our Florida shows but we get excited about planning a trip or two to a town/city we’ve never been to. We have several on our bucket list and were totally bummed we weren’t able to add to our list of travels this past year. We were lucky enough to see Kenny receive a much deserved Humanitarian Award back in February and we shake our heads when we talk about that because without that event, we would not have seen ANY live music this year! So hard to believe. It’s hard for us to believe that the last time we were with some of our No Shoes Nation peeps was during our Sandbar Escape in October 2019! We made so many new friends and were hoping to reconnect at shows this past summer but we will just have to be patient and see what 2021 or 2022 has in store for all of us. We are hoping for new music from Kenny soon and hopefully a fun outing with the No Shoes Reefs folks, more to come on that! Thanks for being on this journey with us and we hope to see you soon!

Connie: If we really look back on 2020 a few positive things did come out of it. Michelle and I were honored to have been able to see Kenny get the Humanitarian Award back in February in Nashville. Kenny gave us an amazing album… “Here and Now”. He finally gave us a song that truly embodies The No Shoes Nation… We Do! My hopes for 2021 are pretty simple. First, Let’s keep everyone healthy. I would be be lying if I didn’t tell you all that I’m hoping Kenny keeps embracing us with more special live social media engagement.  As for the tour… I want a Sandbar filled with my No Shoes Nation family. I want to be able to dance and sing my way through the night with Kenny on that stage giving us everything he’s got! For that to happen… we might have to wait. I want it to be safe and I’m sure Kenny feels the same. I am sure we will know soon enough as to when he can tour again. Knowing he misses us as much as we miss him makes it a little easier. I’ll spend 2021 still loving the music and living my life in the best No Shoes Nation lifestyle I can with all of you awesome people.

With no live Kenny in 2020 we took on a closer relationship with The No Shoes Nation, having all of you to engage with over the last 12 months we realized there are so many stories from the fans that we love to share. It is amazing how all of you live the No Shoes Nation lifestyle. We have loved telling your stories on our blog. So many of us relate to that love of Kenny and his music. For the Sandbar in 2021 we want it to be about The No Shoes Nation and how we live our lives to the fullest. Because who lives life to the fullest like we do? WE DO!

Happy New Year!
